Welcome to International Scuba Center's website. We have a passion for diving and love sharing it with others. ISC, with its Worldwide accreditation programs, has been serving the Tri Cities almost continuously since the early eighties. We are the only facility in upper East Tennessee that has an instructor trainer/evaluator on site which allows us to provide certification from beginner through dive instructor trainer/course director.

We believe in small student/instructor ratios and hands on training from classroom to confined water to open water. We don't train "Cyber Divers" or "Weekend Wonders" , which is one of the reasons our agency has never experienced a training accident.

We are here to provide a safer alternative to the status quo that training has evolved into where quantity trained seems more important than the quality of training. From instruction to sales to servicing equipment, we believe we provide the best value you can find.

Our goal has never been to be the biggest ...... just the best!

"LOCALLY OWNED ..... INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN"

International Diving Educators Association has named International Scuba Center (ISC) as one of the top dive training facilities in the nation. As such ISC will now be acknowledged as an Instructor College - one of only eight in the U.S. to be honored with this distinction.

Our Open Water Scuba classes are available to start when you are. With a staff of nine instructors we can accomodate almost any scheduling request. If you are interested in becoming Internationally certified please contact us at:

ISC now offers the ReadyDiver™ Pro Risk Management for Sport Divers course. The course covers: Risk Threshold, Diver Critical Thinking, OODA Loop, 4 C’s of Diving, Prevention and Management of Problems, plus much more. This is just another way we continue to provide our clients the means to become better divers. Contact us for more information about this free course. Read our Dive bLog here to find out more about the ReadyDiver™ programs and how we contributed to this project.

Lately we've had several customers in the shop that have remarked how much lower our prices are than xyz shop. While it is true most of our everyday prices are already below what some shops advertise as sale prices, we want everyone to know that we can usually obtain any dive gear needed through our extensive network of shops we have developed relationships with over these past 30 years. For example, our price for the Mako 2 mask obtained from an Oceanic authorized dealer is only $36.95 while advertised else where on sale for $69.95. If your looking to buy gear, regardless of brand, you really need to check with us.

Just a friendly reminder to all our past or future clients, once you have taken your open water course from us all refreshers are free of charge. Just contact us and we will be happy to get you back in the pool and back up to speed with your skills before your next dive or vacation. We never want one of our clients to forgo this valuable service because they were tight on funds so it has always been our policy to offer this free service. Make your trip more enjoyable and safe by taking advantage of this offer. This applies to anyone that was ever trained at the center from the time it was the "Scuba Locker" in the 70's through "The Professional Scuba Center", up to its current moniker "International Scuba Center".

Now taking enrollments for Winter 2016 ITC. If you've been interested in teaching scuba diving please contact us for more details on the course and the prerequisites. Watch this site for a new announcement about our ITC.

... it is because we all came from the sea. And it is an interesting biological fact that all of us have, in our veins the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and, therefore, we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch it we are going back from whence we came.....
